  • There is current template for diploma thesis on Overleaf platform and its source in Github. It conforms to Warsaw University of Technology unified editing rules for diploma theses.

Schedule for the completion and defense of the diploma thesis

  • Start!at least 6 months before the defense
    Determining the purpose, scope and topic of the work in consultation with the selected Supervisor. Master's theses usually require more time to complete.

    It is the student's responsibility to meet the deadline for selecting the topic.

  • Implementationup to one month before the defense
    Carrying out the agreed tasks and writing the text of the diploma thesis in cooperation with the supervisor.
  • Completion4 weeks before the defense
    1. Acceptance of the completed thesis for defense by the supervisor - enabling submission of the thesis.
    2. Delivery of the final version of the diploma thesis by the student.
    3. Anti-plagiarism check.
    4. Submitting an application for defense by the student, countersigned by the supervisor and the Head of the SIP Division.
  • Formalities3-4 weeks before the defense
    It is the student's responsibility to submit the thesis on time and complete all necessary formalities.
  • Preparation1-2 weeks before the defense
    Preparing a presentation of thesis for defense. Preparing for the diploma exam.
  • Defensethe day of defense
    1. Presentation of work by a student (5-10 minutes) from his/her own laptop. A computer screen with an HDMI cable is available in the defense room.
    2. Possibly some questions regarding the diploma thesis.
    3. Three questions related to studies, drawn from the available list.
    4. Evaluation of the exam by the Commission.
